Winter Nighttime Routine
Hi Friends!
I don’t know about you but I love a good routine post!
Seeing what others are doing to end or begin their day always gives me joy and inspiration. So since my routine has switched a bit as of recent, due to the change in season, I thought I would share with you how I end my night!
So my night routine starts when I finish dinner.
First things first a little tidy of my apartment. The daily tasks are cleaning the dishes, wiping down the counter and a quick vacuum. Ending my night with a tidy space its very important for me, because if I got to sleep in a tidy space I’m waking up in a tidy space!
After my little tidy, I throw on my comfy clothes, given we are in lockdown I’m usually already in some kind of comfy attire, but I’m talking real comfy clothes, like either a matching PJ set or more often than not my partners clothing. Changing my clothing makes me switch from day mode to night mode. Honestly, if I had a very stressful work day I sometimes change right when my work day ends. It really helps with the transition.
Next up, tea. One of my favourite things to do before bed. I really take my time to get out my favourite mug, pick a tea (usually chamomile) and really take the time to breath the warmth in.
The rest varies! I have been doing a daily yoga practice so if I was unable to do that in the morning I fit it in as a before bed relaxation.
I have been very much into podcasts recently. I mean I’m ALWAYS into podcasts but recently I have been choosing podcasts over TV. I don’t know if it’s because I have basically watched everything on all the platforms, but I just have not been interested in TV recently and it has actually been really refreshing!
While I listen to my podcast or watch some TV I do some scrolling through Pinterest or do some journaling.
Before I hop into bed I make sure to get my skin care done and brush my teeth, all that fun stuff.
The Ordinary has been my holy grail and I have really seen improvements in my skin because of using their products! On of my favourites that has been so amazing to help my dry winter skin is their rose hip seed oil! I have always been scared of a facial oil because I was very nervous it would clog my pores but that fear is long gone since using this product.
Once all the fun skin care and teeth brushing is done it’s finally time to jump into bed, I do some stretches to loosen my hips because sitting all day is the worst and then I read! I know it’s bad to have screens in the bedroom and I try my best to limit it, but I do love reading off my iPad or my phone!
And there you have it! My night routine!
Let me know in the comments below one of your favourite ways to end your night!
