So Things Are Opening Up

Hi Friends!

So if you live in Toronto, you have likely heard by now that we have moved into stage two of reopening. And I don’t know about you but it’s giving me major anxiety.

Yes cases have gone down, but do we really feel it’s low enough to be sitting on patios?

I understand that people are in need of a sense of normalcy but I also want to make sure that for those of us who still feel anxious YOU ARE ENTITLED TO FEEL THIS WAY. I mean we are still in a global pandemic after all.

If everyone is asking you to go out and enjoy stage two but you don’t feel comfortable, I really encourage you to say no. If your friends and family don’t understand and can’t appreciate your worry, remember that is their issue not yours. I was worried that people would not understand why I am still feeling uncomfortable but the more times I said no to people, the more empowered that made me feel which made me more confident in saying no more often.

Also please remember you do not have to explain yourself, I always seem to feel the need to explain to someone why I am saying no when just saying the word no should suffice.

If you feel comfortable enough to enjoy this reopening, I really encourage you to still make sure you are wearing your masks, washing your hands and practising social distancing.

I don’t know about anyone else but I am feeling weary about going back to ‘normal’. I am an introvert so honestly I have, to an extent, been living my best life during all of this. I really can’t even fathom grocery shopping with the store at full capacity.

You are not alone in feeling anxious about the reopening and you are also not alone in enjoying the reopening. What I do think is that we all need to continue to be cautious and ensure we still social distance and wear our masks when out in public. One more time for the people in the back, just because things are opening does not mean that there is no longer any risk.

Let me know below how you are feeling about Toronto entering stage two!
