Planning My Meals

Hi Friends!

I have been trying recently to notice the positive moments of this year. One thing that keeps jumping out at me is how much more time I have been spending in the kitchen. And I’m absolutely loving it.

Pre-pandemic I was not only working from the office everyday I was also going to the gym after work almost everyday. So that being said, cooking wasn’t my top priority. Not that I wasn’t eating or cooking at home, but meals were pretty dull and very repetitive.

After settling into my new work from home life, I’ve been all over the kitchen! I have fallen in love with trying new recipes.

I bought this wonderful weekly planner off of amazon where I schedule what meals I plan to make on each day and then I keep the weekly page posted up in the kitchen. It has really helped us stay on track! My partner and I were finding that when we didn’t plan out our meals we ended up eating out significantly more often, we we’re especially bad on weekends so it’s been nice to actually make meals on the weekend as well.

I mostly use Pintrest to find recipes. Sometime there are too many options that it’s overwhelming and I get very stressed. Then I remembered I own three cookbooks, that I have never used. So I have made a commitment to myself to find at least one recipe a week from the cookbooks!

I have really been into making soups! Not only because of the cooler weather but because soup is everything, and it usually gets us plenty of leftovers! Which mean’s it’s a really budget friendly meal!

Let me know in the comments below if you have been experimenting with different meals over the last few months!

I hope this inspires you to pick a new recipe to try out, happy cooking!
