New Home Office Set Up

Hi Friends!

I have been working from home for just over nine months.. seeing that written out has me realizing how fast those nine months have gone by. Now I’m a person who easily gets board with their space. However, living in 600 square feet limits me in how often I can really rearrange.

Recently, I was given the opportunity to change up my desk space.

If you saw my post earlier this year about my office set up, you would know that I typically share a desk with my partner. And now since he is home for about a month we have realized that it’s extremely unrealistic to share a desk all day every day.

I had to get creative pretty quickly. So I decided to move my space to our dining room table.

We really don’t use it. Bad as it is, we tend to eat dinner on the couch while watching TV so it was a completely unused space. And since my computer is just one cord to plug in and out, should we decided to use the dining room table, let’s say during the holidays, it’s super easy to move.

The change of space has really helped my productivity! Every now and again a change is something I crave. This is something I am working to understand because as someone with anxiety I don’t quite get why I crave change so frequently.

The first thing I thought about when I moved my desk was how uncomfortable a dining room chair is..

We have a gaming chair for our desk so I was pretty upset to give that comfy thing up LOL

The best choice I made was to cozy up the dining room chair. Originally I was just going to deal, but it was just too uncomfortable. So I threw on a fuzzy blanket and a nice soft pillow. Now at the end of the day it’s still a dining room table so it’s not the same as an office chair but it really did help.

One big takeaway I can look at positively from this dining room chair situation is it’s been improving my posture significantly! I notice if I slouch which has been great.

I just have the space to really make it my own and feel like it’s my office. Who knows I might keep it this way!

Have you been able to change up your office space during this year ?
