Local Places I’m Loving in Simcoe County
Over the summer I moved to Innisfil. One of the biggest things I was excited about was to really feel apart of a smaller community.
I have really loved shopping local, and supporting small businesses when I can. So today I wanted to share with you some of the local businesses in the Simcoe area that I have found in my short amount of time being here! I really hope to be able to expand on this list one day.
I was sceptical about nail salons when I moved, ignorantly so I will admit. I just thought that nail salons outside of a major city were not going to live up to the ones I have visited in Toronto. Boy was I wrong. Tracy’s is the best nail salon I have been to by far. They are SO friendly and welcoming and they do a killer job on your nails. I love it here. If you are ever in the Innisfil area i highly recommend checking them out.
I had been following Heather since before I moved, I just loved her Instagram page. So when I moved and it clicked that this adorable shop was now just a 15 minute drive from me I was jumping for joy! When I finally made it to the shop I was so excited. It was the most cozy and welcoming place I have been too. If you are in the Downtown Barrie area run, do not walk to Blueberry moon!
I love a local farm, so when my roommate/BFF and I decided we wanted to go pumpkin picking this year, I am so happy we ended up at Barrie Hill Farms. A family owned and operated farm, I mean sign me right up. The cutest shop filled with local Ontario products. I will be spending every weekend there come Spring! Just such a wholesome place.
My boyfriend took me to this restaurant one night when our date night had fell through because I forgot to check the hours for the place I had originally picked out. The warm home feeling hits you right when you walk in, it’s like eating at your aunts house. All of the staff were lovely, and the food was outstanding.
With the holidays coming up I encourage you to, where you can, support local! I know it can be hard financially to support local sometimes so even if it’s just sharing a post on Instagram or leaving a good review.
What are some of your local favourites?!
